Marketing Manager (Intern) - Amsterdam

As part of the growth of our young start-up company Truefie (http://www.truefie.com), we are looking for an intern to fulfill the new role of Marketing Manager. This person will be an advocate for clients on the Truefie platform, helping acquire new customers and supporting their happiness on the platform. The ideal candidate has a knowledge of, and interest in, marketing and sales, photography, social media, and internet-based services.

Truefie office

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Acquisition (B2C) – finding and pursuing leads for getting individual clients to the Truefie platform to get bookings made.
  • Customer Acquisition (B2B) – finding and pursuing leads for getting business/commercial clients to the Truefie platform to get bookings made.
  • Creating ad campaigns – creating and measuring the success of ad campaigns, including internet or other outlets; adjusting strategy according to success; managing ad budget for optimum performance (most benefit for least money).
  • Client Community Management
    • Social media – posting to social media to encourage growth and community
    • Blogging – writing short blog pieces, articles and interviews about happenings in the Truefie community, “success stories”.
    • Incentives – brainstorming ideas to encourage clients to use Truefie; make bookings; recommend/share Truefie to others.
    • Competition organizer – brainstorming ideas to get Truefie clients active in friendly competitions, and getting sponsors involved to award prizes. Organizing competitions and encouraging clients / potential clients to join.
  • Reporting – Creating reports on tasks and success

Knowledge and skills:

  • Marketing and sales – knows how to develop a strategy to create sales; can transform a broad strategy into daily tactics and tasks. Can understand feedback/results and adapt accordingly.
  • Interest in photography
  • Social media – Skilled at writing short and engaging posts, or photographic posts, to keep a community engaged. Can evaluate user reactions and adjust/improve.
  • Analytics – can read and use analytics systems to understand user behavior and determine the best course of action.
  • Ad campaign software – can create online ad campaigns and read results
  • Computer and Internet strong – more than just a casual user of the internet, but really enjoys and understands the potentials of collaborating online
  • Ability to turn abstract notions into numbers and measurable data
  • Fluent in English/Dutch. Other languages are a plus.

Personal Qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills – Sales minded; can approach a conversation with closing the deal in mind, while always keeping long-term happiness in mind rather than a quick sale.
  • Open and enthusiastic – has no problem talking with people, and can approach even ‘difficult topics’ with a positive growth-focused conversation.
  • Ambitious – you’re not looking for just ‘a job’ or something to do because you’re bored or need the paycheck. You want to make something big and important, and you’re on board with the Truefie vision.
  • Structured – you can organize and prioritize your work, and not get overwhelmed.

This is an internship position, which means that we will foster the individual’s growth and offer support to the role. The internship will be for a period of 4-6 months. There is the possibility of the internship turning into employment at the end of the internship period, and will be based on the extent to which the intern has grown into the role, meaning:

  1. the individual meets or exceeds expectations with regards to performance, showing ambition, dedication and creativity
  2. the individual is able to perform all tasks independently, without needing guidance or support
  3. the individual is able to be a collaborator, suggesting improvements to his/her role, the platform, and services we offer

Photographer Community Manager (Intern) - Amsterdam

As part of the growth of our young start-up company Truefie (http://www.truefie.com), we are looking for an intern to fulfill the new role of Photographer Community Manager. This person will be an advocate for photographers on the Truefie platform, helping improve their online presence and supporting their happiness on the platform. The ideal candidate has a knowledge of, and interest in, photography, social media, and internet-based services.

Truefie office

Responsibilities:

  • Photographer Evaluation – reviewing the portfolios of new photographers to the platform, and ‘grading’ them based on set criteria to determine their level of professionalism and craft.
  • Photographer Profile Advisor – having personal contact with the photographers in our network to help them complete their profile with ‘good’ photos, tagging and information; give them feedback on their profile; further develop their portfolio; and any other support to help them make an attractive Truefie profile.
  • Photographer Community Management
    • Social media – posting to social media to help support Truefie artists and encourage growth and community
    • Blogging – writing short blog pieces, articles and interviews about happenings in the Truefie community, tips and tricks of the trade
    • Event organizer – brainstorming ideas to get Truefie photographers together for fun, educational or profit-based events. Organizing events and encouraging photographers to join.
    • Competition organizer – brainstorming ideas to get Truefie photographers involved / active in friendly competitions, and getting sponsors involved to award prizes. Organizing competitions and encouraging photographers to join.
    • Incentives – brainstorming ideas to encourage photographers to join Truefie, to stay on Truefie, to keep updating their profile, to link to Truefie’s website
  • Recruiting new photographers to the platform – finding new outlets of photographers to recruit; writing letters of introduction to photographers; personalized follow-ups; helping support them in creating an account.
  • Reporting – Creating reports on tasks and success

Knowledge and skills:

  • Photography – can discern the craft involved in making a good photograph, and can identify skilled work from unskilled work. Can edit a series to include the ‘best’ work from a photographer.
  • Social media – Skilled at writing short and engaging posts, or photographic posts, to keep a community engaged. Can evaluate user reactions and adjust/improve.
  • Content Management Systems – comfortable using CMSs for blogging and imagery
  • Computer and Internet strong – more than just a casual user of the internet, but really enjoys and understands the potentials of collaborating online; technically minded to understand how a website works functionally, to help users troubleshoot basic difficulties.
  • Ability to turn abstract notions into numbers and measurable data
  • Fluent in English/Dutch. Other languages are a plus.
